Will I be able to see the seams of my countertop?
When using granite for surfaces such as a kitchen countertop, seams will likely be part of the equation. There are ways around it, but rarely. The average size of a granite slab is 116” by 66 width. One of the best ways to avoid seeing the seams is to use the corner areas to hide the seams. Experts have said that most times the human eye will not even notice the seams
When we, Ottawa Diamond Granite, are designing the countertops for your kitchen, we will plan where the best place are for seams. The ability to see the seam will also depend on the color of the granite. At Ottawa Diamond Granite, we do everything to insure your seam is as invisible as possible. We also adhere to the industry standard of the seam being between 2mm to 5mm in width. The seam is expected to be flat and smooth so they will be virtually impossible to feel. We also use a CNC machine which utilizes a digital system that will minimize how visible the seams will be to our customers.
