Granite is a dependable and long lasting surface preferred for use in the kitchen and bathroom areas. It is one of the hardest surfaces, especially when polished. It was first used in the commercial setting, then was introduced to the residential setting for many high end clients.
Granite is a stone that needs to be treated before installed. It requires polishing and to be coated with resin. After it is custom created by our fabricators it then has a sealant added to the surface to enhance and add more protection to the surface. This process will guard the granite from being scratched, stained, and promote the granite to have a healthy sheen to it. The most common staining on the granite is when there is residue of water on the countertop. This may happen as a result of washing dishes. It is important you wash any liquid as soon as you notice off the granite so water and oil spots do not occur. They will disappear over some time, but the best course of action is to stop them for occurring. Another caution is not to use harsh chemicals to clean on the granite. They can react to them and cause some fading of color.
