Granite origins are a mystery. They are believe have been around as long as four billion years ago to the last 300 million years. Granite begins as a rock heated within the earth’s core. Those temperatures may be as high as 1400 degrees. Granite is more related to magma occurring about fourteen miles under the earth’s surface. Gradually over millions of years the magma rose to the earth’s surface and cooled. This process created the granite we know today.

Granite is a solid stone that is mainly made of mica, feldspar, and quartz. It often has hints of other mineral within it and are mainly responsible for the colour of the granite.
