What is granite?
Granite is formed by liquid, fiery magma and melted just like volcanic lava. It has a composition very similar to lava but granite became solid under the ground surface where it slowly cooled and crystallized.
Granite that is available to us in Canada was formed nearly four billion years ago, as it is part of the Canadian Shield. The Canadian Shield is known around the world for producing some of the most beautiful, durable granite in the world.
