Our Fabrication Process
We at Ottawa Diamond Granite are involved with all the stages of delivering the granite slabs and quartz to our customers from the wet process to delivery of the finished product. The wet process involves using quartz (Silicone Dioxide), and applying water to the stone to cut, grind, or polish it to create the finished product. Adding water is an important step to protect all those who work with the slabs, as it will reduce fine dust and particulate that can be the cause of lung injury. This wet process is needed to insure a safe and uncluttered working conditions for our workers and customers alike.
We at Ottawa Diamond Granite aim to create an environmentally conscious business as well as having team members that are educated about the product and create safe working conditions. The water we use in the wet process, we recycle and then we use that water approximately 50 more times before it is removed out of the water system. This alone greatly helps our water consumption reducing the environmental impact of our business.
We use a software that can digitally capture the dimension of the customer’s project, as seen in the following areas:
- kitchen
- bathroom
- custom made furniture
- cabinets.
We take all the possibilities in to account when developing the perfect template using the software of AUTOCAD. We at Ottawa Diamond Granite promise you that the finished product will be reflected in our digital template complete with all the features you the customer are looking for.
The stone pieces we hand create are done by using a state of the art machine called a CNC machine. The countertops we create at Ottawa Diamond Granite, will be able to adapt to any area that the dimensions will allow. They can be adapted to work with all types of wall styles from angled walls to typical walls. They will fit in a way that it will be difficult to see where the wall begins and the countertop ends; It will appear to match exactly. They will not only appear to be custom fit on the outside but on the underneath that is not visible as well. We manufacture a perfect product that you and your clients will love inside and out.
The last step in the manufacturing process is to hand polish your granite. Hand polishing will insure the granite has the highest shine available. We at Ottawa Diamond Granite do not use temporary polishes that may wear down over time. We only use permanent polish for your granite slab. We also do not use any waxes or chemicals to artificially create a sheen on the slab. Temporary polish does not show the hard work and professional work we provide. The process we use will protect your granite and promises to insure your investment in the granite will be secure.
